Class updates determine the name of a class to replace an existing class and determine under what circumstances this replacement should occur.
Suppose that a particular class, which represents a material number, is to be superseded by the class of another material number. This should only be done from a specific date.
The class has the class name 887611 and is to be superseded by 887611N. The classes already have a valid date range.
Then, in class 887611, a class update can be formulated– in the sense that "replace me with class 887611N if the current date falls within the date range of class 887611N.
Class updates are checked by the RelevantClass function, which can be called from any location.
